Proud to meet and exceed PAAG minimum standards
We care about animals here at Preloved, and making sure we are doing all we can to combat animal welfare concerns is very important to us. We continuously work closely with various animal welfare charities and organisations to make sure our site is a safe place for owners and pets to find a forever friend, making detailed information available via our animal welfare pages. We also work closely with PAAG to ensure we have animal welfare at the heart of our pet advert moderation processes.
PAAG (Pet Advertising Advisory Group) is a government endorsed advisory group who work hard to ensure classifed ad publications do what they can to combat animal welfare concerns. The group is formed from various dedicated animal welfare charities and organisations in the UK (listed below), and was created in 2001 to combat irresponsible advertising of pets for sale and rehoming.
- Battersea Dogs & Cats Home
- Blue Cross
- British Veterinary Association
- Cats Protection
- Dogs Trust
- The Kennel Club
- One Kind
- The Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund
- Wood Green
In line with the increase of pets for sale online in recent years, in September 2013 the group received Government endorsement for a set of minimum standards for classied ad sites to adhere to when allowing pets to be sold and rehomed on site. As part of a 6-month pilot scheme involving just a handful of classified ad sites, Preloved met all the voluntary minimum standards set by PAAG in June 2014, and we continue to find ways to improve our animal welfare regulations and moderation processes.
We take animal welfare very seriously and our dedicated team of advert moderators manually check 100% of our animal adverts to ensure all adverts meet the standards set by PAAG. However, if you do see an advert on site that you feel may have some animal welfare concerns, please let us know ASAP. You can find out more information about our processes and how you can help by viewing our Preloved Pet Pledge.
