Giant’s Causeway, Ireland

If you ever visit Ireland, the Game of Thrones Tour will take you not only through the epic sites of Northern Ireland where the cult series is filmed, but it will also take you to the Giant’s Causeway. Giant’s Causeway is an awe-inspiring location which is saturated in legend involving a giant (hence the name!). Known to be one of the greatest natural wonders in the United Kingdom, the Giant’s Causeway has to be seen in real life, as photos really don’t do it justice!

Portmeirion, Wales

Looking more like a village in Italy than a tourist location in Wales, Portmeirion is a picturesque location full of pastel hues and great views. On a sunny day you can enjoy an ice cream by the sea and in September you can pitch your tent and enjoy Festival No6. Also the location where hit 1960’s TV show ‘The Prisoner’ was filmed, the charming little village also has a wonderful woodland area to have a relaxing walk through.

Mow Cop, Staffordshire

Although it’s one of the lesser known locations on our list, Mow Cop a location which is fairly local to us here at Preloved HQ and can be found on the Cheshire-Staffordshire boarder. On a clear day, the view from Mow Cop Castle stretches as far as Wales and Liverpool, which you can enjoy as part of the Cheshire Gritstone Trail walking route. Other notable features of Mow Cop are the cave and the mythical ‘old man O’Mow’ which is a rock formation standing 65 feet high!

Thors Cave, Peak District

A natural cavern located in the White Peak in Staffordshire, this Karst cave is a popular tourist spot which has views for miles over the Manifold Valley. With a brilliant walking route leading up to the cave, you need to ensure you wear your most comfortable walking boots to climb the steep hill up to the cavern. Although there have been items discovered in the cave which suggests it was a burial site, as well as being occupied during the iron age and roman periods!

So crack out the caravan or book a holiday home in the UK! There’s plenty to see and plenty to do, without having to jet off on a plane for your holidays and day trips!
