This is a signed print of the outdoor market known as "The Stones", of Newcastle-under-Lyme, a market which has been held on the High Street for over 700 years.
It is number 148 of a Chartered Edition of 1173 which reflects the year when King Henry II granted the Royal and Ancient Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme its first Royal Charter. Only 1000 prints were available to the general public, the rest being reserved for the Burgesses of the town.
It has been painted by the widely acclaimed, local, water colour artist, Anthony Forster and framed and published by Hood and Broomfield.
This lovely signed and numbered painting is in a beautiful mahogany frame. It measures 31" wide x 25" high.
