Set at Chapman's Pool in the Purbecks, Dorset. This is the true story of a seal who arrived for the summer befriending all who met him. She is an excellent (professional) writer who worked hard with the seal to understand where he came from and why he was so friendly. A portrait of coastal Purbeck in about 1963, the book was published in 1964. This is a paperback from this time in excellent condition. At the end she discusses the plight of the grey (and other) seals. Slim volume of about 177 pages well worth a read. Read more
