The cast includes Hayley Mills who is adequate. The shining light of the cast is Holly Aird who plays Elspeth. I bought this and then didn't watch it for years. I just finished and am glad I did watch it. In the beginning I intensely disliked the father and watched the characters evolve and ended with a respect for him. The child coming to grips with life in Africa and it's wildlife was the best of the series. It shows what happens when a person is accepting and willing to learn and adapt.
