This boxed set of 66 porcelain miniature Chinese opera masks are in excellent condition.
Used to aid the Chinese facial make up artist's of the Beijing opera house with each mask depicting a certain role and figure
I do not know if these are the actual ones used by the artists or just a presentation box.
Each of the masks is in perfect condition and measures around 30mm x 25mm.
Presented in their original printed silk felt lined case measuring
350mm x 130mm x 35mm in the closed position and weighing approximately 820g
This intricately crafted set comes with an information sheet in Chinese and English detailing the meaning of the colours on each face (as can be seen in the picture)

Water-white suggests a sinister and treacherous,suspicious and cheating character.
Oil-white is symbolic of a solem,arrogant and domineering character.
