I am selling this VINTAGE RARE Cunard "Queen Mary" Last Voyage from Southampton Signed Picture 1967 which belongs to me, and I won this as a prize when I worked at Cunard in the late 1970's. It is now almost 50 years since she sailed from Southampton to her new home in Long Beach, California, USA.
This picture is in a used condition, all original in its original heavy frame and has been stored away for the last several decades, and needs to go to a good new home.
The picture of the Queen Mary is excellent, and is signed by the Captain: J Treasure Jones in black ink pen, dated 31st October 1967
The tugboat in the foreground is "Romsey"
The paragraph at the bottom of the picture under R.M.S. Queen Mary reads:
R.M.S. Queen Mary leaving Southampton for the last time on her journey to Long Beach.
31st October, 1967. The 310 ft "paying off" pennant represents 10ft for each of her 31 years service.
Extreme bottom left in very small lettering it is marked: Copyright Southampton City Council
Extreme bottom right in very small lettering it is marked: Printed in England
The picture is in its original period frame from 1967, with glass and is quite heavy and measures:
L 49 x W x 39 x H 5 cms
If you are a collector of White Star, Cunard Line or Shipping memorabilia then add this to your collection as a piece of history, and I have not seen a picture like this since.
