Here we have a VERY RARE “Monopoly” check (#0184 in the amount of $10), which features the classic board game on the check.
This sale is for a Charles Manson’s very rare hand signed check with the C.O.A. Certificate of Authenticity provided by the highly respectable Dealer “Todd Mueller”.
The autographed item was obtained in prison by Manson's lawyer Stan Bowman, who would in the 1990’s, have Manson sign items for Manson’s friend Stephen Drasil (until Manson was placed in the hole for doing so).
Todd Mueller originally purchased these from Stephen Drasil’s estate after he died.
Partly printed check made on the Home Savings of America Bank, California. This check is a Monopoly check produced by Parker Brothers during the 1990’s. Charles M. Manson’s and Stephen K. Drasil (Business Associate) names are imprinted on the top left corner along with
the address "40601/2 W, 163rd Street Lawndale, California “CA".
It is double signed by Manson and dated August 1969.
During August, 1969, Manson had announced "Now is the time for Helter Skelter" to his followers who went on a forty-eight hour murder spree.
This remarkable check is in very fine condition. All of Manson’s writings and signatures are in dark bold ink.
Brief Synopsis
Charles MANSON (b. 1934). American criminal who led what became known as the Manson family. He is known as the "icon of evil." Charged and convicted of murder and conspiracy. Sentenced to death but that was automatically commuted to life imprisonment by a 1972 court decision eliminating the death penalty in California.
Charles Milles Manson (born Charles Milles Maddox, November 12, 1934 is an American criminal who led what became known as the Manson Family, a quasi-commune that arose in the California desert in the late 1960s.
Manson and his followers committed a series of nine murders at four locations over a period of five weeks in the summer of 1969. In 1971 he was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders of seven people: actress Sharon Tate and four other people at Tate's home; and the next day, a married couple, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca; all carried out by members of the group at his instruction.
His followers also murdered several other people at other times and locations, and Manson was also convicted for two of these other murders (of Gary Hinman and Donald "Shorty" Shea).
