Advert Description
The set is a genuine Wileman & Co set (later Shelley). The pattern number 3845 was entered into the pattern book around 1888, an exact date is not known as the pattern books at that time were not consistently dated. The shape is the Lily shape and the design is known as ‘Gold Thorns’, the pattern book states that the colour on this set is Salmon. A teapot was not part of a tea set it had to be purchased separately, although in those days you had a good quality tea set and some people had a silver teapot and hot water jug. The set consists of 2 sandwich plates, 12 side plates, 12 cups, 10 saucers, a jug and a bowl (please note there is a crack in the bowl as shown).
