Berlioz's La Damnation de Faust was set in a modernistic setting with allusions to Nazi Storm troopers in the first scene, rather than mid 19th Century French poilu.
The devils seated around gave an interesting Goya like feel to the production.
Rossini's Il Barbariere di Sivilglia, had rather bland sets although the costumes were colourful.
Massenet's Cendrillon was given the panto touch with outrageus costumes for the ugly sisters, and glass backdrop sets.
Dvorak's Rusalka had the river scenes in blue with roots sprining up in primeval fashion, and the water nymphs gave a distinctly Rhinegold feeling when floating on strings.
The foreign Princess had a modern 1950's chick dress which went well with her jealous nature.
Mozart's Die Zauberflote had Monty Python style back drops with a Viennese hotel for the opening.
There were one or two hilarious scenes with a large birth of babies in one.
The tests included washing up for water and similar modernistic electric imagery for fire.
Handel's Rinaldo had modernistic sets including bicycles in one of the scenes.
It featured the famous aria used in the Harrods sale advert on TV.
