The sets were of minimilist style but there was extensive use of photo montage much used at the Paris Opera, and now by many other leading Opera Houses.
There was interesting sustained water imagery of waves and submerging in water and slides of Tristan and Isolde also in naked poses.
The orchestral playing by the L'Opera National de Paris orchestra was excellent, conducted by Philippe Jordan.
Tristan was sung by Andreas Schager, Isolde by Martina Serafin, Kurkenwald by Matthias Goerne and King Mark by Rene Pape.
