This performance received excellent reviews both for the ballet performance and the new sets which were sumptuous and set in the period style of the late 1870's when the ballet was first performed in 1877.
The production is being revived for the 2019 Winter season.
The orchestral playing by the Royal Opera House orchestra was excellent, along with the dancing, including both Vadim Muntagirov and Frederico Bonelli as Prince Siefgried.
