This production has an interesting glass cage Japanese style cage, and the costumes are extravagant and extremely colourful.
The studded skull was Aztec in appearance.
Both the production and the music was a cacophony of colour, photo montage background, fabulous costumes and sound and electronic effects.
For a contemporary production, this was much more effective than the earlier two Orpheus performances of Orpheus & Eurydice and Orpheus in the Underworld, both of which received extremely mixed reviews.
The whole opera is portrayed relating to memory and different interpretations of the same series of events.
