Advert Description

OPEN TO OFFERS.

This pair of mustard leather armchairs belonged to my late father-in-law, Jack Hargreaves, famous in the 1960s-1980s for TV programmes 'Country Boy', 'Gone Fishing', 'Out of Town', 'Old Country' and the children's programme, 'How'. (If you've never seen them, Out of Town and Old Country are available on DVD).

The chairs have been in storage since Jack's wife died in 1998, but we've decided it's time to let them go.

They are in very good used condition, but the leather could do with a good clean with leather soap.

Unfortunately we haven't managed to locate one of the back cushions in our very full garage, but we're still looking and hoping to find it. Hence, I'm selling as one complete chair and one requiring a replacement back cushion. It would be easy to make a cushion to fit.

The chairs are very solidly made, very heavy and extremely comfortable.

I don't know the maker, but the rubber hammock-style seat supports were made by Pirelli, the company that patented the system.

You're welcome to come and see without committing to buy.

Payment on collection from B20 3TG.
