Advert Description

`Emma meets Rosa’ follows the adventures of a girl who has been set an impossible task: to research a famous historical woman and without using the internet. Whilst this sets the scene, the story develops with the introduction of a magic book which creates a whole new host of difficulties for the main character, not least of these being that she has turned into a mouse! Whilst trying to return to her own time and body, Emma is witness to the world changing events of Montgomery Alabama in 1955.

Addresses key learning objectives as suggested in the Curriculum in an easy to use and appealing way.
• It draws from my experience of Primary school children and their loves and needs, and has been written and edited with their feedback.
• I would be happy to create and provide lesson ideas or plans to use alongside the book.
• Emma meets Rosa is historical fiction with an adventurous element and detailed descriptions, providing characters children can relate to whilst encouraging empathy and exploration of the thoughts and feelings of those living at the time alongside the impact of events today.
• I have tried to create a character that children can easily relate to, alongside feelings they are familiar with, but with details, backed by well researched facts, which will support their learning. My aim was to create a fun, gripping but educational book which they can’t put down.
