Thai hand carved leather pictures

Two framed hand carved leather pictures from Thailand. They represent thunder and lightning: Mekhala is the Goddess of Lightning, holding a crystal jewel, and Ramasoon is the God of Thunder, holding his battle axe. Ramasoon fell in love with Mekhala and wanted to possess her. She spurned his advances so he attempts to take her by force. He made to throw his axe but she blinded him with her jewel. He missed and Mekhala escaped. And so we have the story of lightning and thunder….
