Solomon Islands Wooden Throwing Club 1960s Oceania Art

This is a heavy wood throwing club from Solomon Islands purchased in late 1960s from the artisan craftsman. It has a typical eight lobe head and the grip is covered with an intricately patterned woven pandanus cover. Some of this has come very slightly loose and frayed (see photo).

Approx 13 ins/33cms long and a nicely weighted 438g
