Advert Description

A loverly Antique Dresser by the renowned cabinet maker Lambs of Manchester.
Lambs of Manchester were a renowned cabinet making firm, founded by James Lamb. He was a Manchester cabinetmaker who started in the mid Victorian era.
A lovely small petite dresser in the condition you would hope to find it. It's not been restored or messed with, just used, loved & enjoyed.
It still has its ebonised black lacquer. What's nice is where the wood is showing through from wear & use.
Conditions is as expected for an item of this age. There are bits of wood missing to the feet & knocks here & there. The wear of the lacquer is particularly nice where hands have been in constant contact. I'm not sure if the shelf is original. However it does make the piece far more useful. There are numerous holes for dowels so the shelf height may be adjusted. There is some historical discolouration to the work surface & bits of varnish or wax missing. The wear makes me think it may have been used in a small shop at some time.
Each draw has a brass handle & lock.
The locks are stamped LAMB & some of the draws are also stamped LAMB MANCHESTER, a sign of quality.
The draws are all graduated & each draw locks with a single key.
A very useful, practical, honest good looking piece.
Please study the images, as they also form part of the description & please do your own research.
