These hens will take 2 weeks to settle into your system.
If going with other birds the correct way to introduce new birds is to quarantine them for at least 2 weeks. This gives them a chance to settle in without any bullying.
The feed should be layers pellets and mixed poultry grit. Any treats should be greens, a whole cabbage or cauliflower that they can peck off what they want to eat.
The Defra regulations for the correct area for the hens to live in is 12inches perch space per bird.
Outside area minimum scratch area is 36 inches square.
