Measuring 16½ x 11 ¾ inches, this evocative monochrome print depicts the Michigan Central turning through ice on the Detroit River. Built in 1884 and owned by Michigan Central Rail Company, it operated as a car ferry until 1910. In 1925 it was converted to a barge and foundered the following year
