For Sale – Vintage Swiftsure Model 1902 Clay Pigeon Trap
This is a unique opportunity to purchase an original Swiftsure Clay Pigeon Trap
This is an almost finished renovation project, just requiring the overhaul and fitting of the clay grips and (if required) the seat. The original wooden base has been replaced with an excellent purpose made quality timber base and all of the castings and metalwork has been renovated and new bolts and knobs fitted where required.
The copper arc plate is inscribed “For His Lordship and Friends 2006” and, sadly due to an untimely bereavement it has remained unfinished in the corner of my garage for the last 17 years, as the enthusiasm to complete it died after the loss of our dear friend. Anyway, it is now time to move on, let the past go and regain garage space.
So this unique and rare vintage trap is offered for sale in the sincere hope that an enthusiast will finish it off and put it to good use.
I have only ever seen one such trap for sale and it was in rather pitiful state. It sold through a Weller’s auction with a hammer price of £110 plus a 20% premium + VAT in November 2019.
