Preview of the first image of Children’s Party Songs Book First Edition Vintage 1947.

Advert Description

This charming first edition vintage book of children’s party songs is difficult to find these days as it was published in 1947.

Although evocative of a bygone era the songs contained in this thin soft covered book are English classics and as much fun to sing, and accompany on the piano, today as they were back in the 1940’s.
The musical arrangement of each song is by John Turner.

Oranges And Lemons
A Ring, A Ring O’Roses
Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush
The Jolly Miller
The Chestnut Tree
London Bridge Is Falling Down
The Farmer’s In The Dell
Lobby Loo
Sur Le Pont D’Avignon
Here We come Gathering Nuts In May
The Smoke Goes Up The Chimney
Auld Lang Syne.

There are delightful black and white illustrations associated with each song throughout the book, and both the inside and outside of the book’s front and back covers have beautiful full colour full page illustrations – all by Pat Meloney.

As is to be expected given the age of this item there are various signs of wear on its covers.
The pages inside have mellowed to an off white slightly yellow colour – which is normal for vintage paper, and the outer edge corners of each page are creased from use.
The pages have become detached from their cover – however, they are all present and perfectly useable as they are in very good clean condition, with no stains, holes, or handwritten notes.

Please refer to the photographs provided to make your own assessment regarding the condition of this item.
