An Oil painting on board of a Cornish Fishing Boat Scene by Tony Shorthouse 1976.

I believe "Tony Shorthouse was born in Kent, in 1944. He joined the Met in 1961 & worked as a detective in London’s East End & Scotland Yard. He moved to Cornwall in 1973 & briefly ran a restaurant in St.Ives & took up painting at this time. He rejoined the Police in the local Constabulary & served in Devon & Cornwall until his retirement as Inspector in 1994. Throughout his police career he actively persued his love of painting.
On retirement, Tony opened the Waterfront Gallery in Penzance, turning his hobby into a new career, but soon found that he preferred to be painting full time & now works from his home studio as Tresowes.
Formerly a member of the St. Ives Society of Artists, he has regularly exhibited in many West Cornwall Galleries & Brittany".
