Advert Description

Uncommon Vintage Large Sharon Octagonal Ironstone Serving Platter By William Adams & Sons. Brown Shamrock Border On Creamy White Background. VGUC.

The charming Sharon range of ironstone pottery was manufactured in England by William Adams And Sons between 1960 and 1979 and is evocative of a much earlier era.

This pretty vintage tableware range features a border design treatment of brown shamrocks on a creamy white background, and makes a lovely feature when displayed on a shelf or dresser.

Sharon meat dishes and other serving platters in this range are normally oval; only a few were made in the more complicated octagonal (eight sided) shape incorporating a fluted design below the brown shamrock border around the edge of the platter – such as on that being offered for sale here.
Hence pieces such as this do not often become available.

The size of this platter (approximately 15.50 inches long x 11.50 inches across) is particularly useful if one has a family or when entertaining guests.

This is a private sale from a pet, smoke and Covid free home.
My mother purchased this platter new in the 1960’s and it has remained in my family since that time.
