We bought this because we thought it might come in handy if we needed to run a lowish power (up to 150 watt - no hair dryers or kettles!) mains appliance in the car, but never got round to using it. It plugs into the 12 volt "cigarette lighter" socket in the car, and has a standard 13A 3 pin socket for the appliance.
