Advert Description

Please feel free to make an offer.

A Stunning fruit wood antique hand painted Dragon Spinning or Sewing Chair.

I believe that it's extremely likely to be Welsh & made fruit wood, but please do your own research.

In expected used condition for an item of this age & nature. It has had a historical repair, as it would have originally had 4 legs. It now only has three. The two rear legs have a slight backward incline. However the front leg is vertical. This makes sense as a vertical leg is much stronger holding a downward load now its just one front leg rather than two. It still looks fine, as some spinning chairs do have three legs to be stable on an uneven floor. If you turn it upside down, you can still see the two holes. The hand painting on the seat is also a little worn, but it's exactly what you'd expect. The serpents / dragons & tree staff is still quite crisp on the vertical back rest.

It feel it would benefit from a little more waxing.

A lovely hardwood statement treen piece. I'd expect this would now generally be used as a decorative object rather than a chair to sit on.

Nicely turned legs, very tactile & a great overall rich colour & patina.

It can be viewed in person & collected to save some postage.

If you'd like it posting, it will break down easily, as a wooden peg maybe removed from underneath which releases the backrest.

Please study the images, as they also form part of the description & please do your own research.

Can post at extra cost. Postage includes being signed for.
