The Game Genie can also function as an adaptor to allow Japanese cartridges to be played which do not physically fit the cartridge slot without it. Codes then work on those too.
(I also have a Japanese cartridge adaptor available seperately).
Play US NTSC cartridges - Most US Genesis cartridges play fine on your UK console, but some US Genesis games will not play on your UK PAL console due to being restricted to US NTSC consoles - even though they do physically fit a UK console. Codes can be entered into the Game Genie which allow the NTSC Genesis cartridge to be played. (US Genesis Frogger is an example of this). You do not need an NTSC capable TV for this to work - the game plays as PAL.
