Chinese Hand Painted White Porcelain Vase

The vase was purchased by a member of the family serving in the Royal Navy. It was purchased from a second hand shop in the Far East in the 1970's. The square white porcelain vase stands 12 inches tall, it is hand painted on opposite sides with birds perched on floral twigs, the other two sides have chinese writing on them. The shoulders are decorated with leaves and the rim is edged with gold leaf.
