Advert Description

This well presented 1:76 scale model, with MCW Orion bodywork, is in the livery of the long gone Bolton Transport .

It serves as a reminder of when many towns and cities had their own municipal transport undertakings in distinctive colours which invoked civic pride: something which is lost on the standardised and unimaginative offerings of Stagecoach, Arriva and First.

This particular model displays route No 60 from the days when the X60 service from Manchester to Blackpool was so popular in the 50s and 60s that North Western, Ribble and Lancashire United had to hire vehicles from other operators, including Bolton, just to cope with the demand from holidaymakers for transport on their joint service to Blackpool.
