This was my late fathers.
He served his apprenticeship as a joiner prior to WWII.
Description
Being a comprehensive treatise on the selection, preparation, and strength of materials and the mechanical principles of framing, with their application in carpentry, joinery, and hand-railing; also a course of introduction in practical geometry, geometrical lines , drawing, projection , and perspective; and an illustrated glossary of term as used in architecture an building. Illustrated by an extensive series of plates and many hundred engravings on wood.
By James Newlands, Borough Engineer of Liverpool. Published by Blackie and Son MDCCCLX (1860). A first edition.

In generally acceptable condition for age, bound in half calf, with fabric to boards but front board detached. Fabric and leather unglued near spine. Corners bumped scraped and exposed. Damage to head of spine. Foxing due to age. Block good and solid.
There are no ownership inscriptions.
