Advert Description
In 1969 as part of a government programme and largely against their will, the municipal transport fleets of Manchester, Salford, Oldham, Ashton-under-Lyne, SHMD (Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley and Dukinfield), Stockport, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton, Ramsbottom and Leigh were amalgamated to form one entity entitled South East Lancashire and North East Cheshire Passenger Transport Executive (SELNEC) based on the London Transport model.
All individual distinctive liveries were lost in favour of orange and white.
SELNEC would later morph into Greater Manchester Transport with the addition of Wigan, North Western and Lancashire United.
This well presented model of a vehicle originally ordered by Bury Corporation, but delivered to SELNEC, has never been out of its box (see specimen) and is on the net for £30 plus p&p.
Packaging and RECEIPTED postage just £3.49 OR collect from Warrington (near Gulliver's World)
