Ewenny Clay Pits Pottery Handmade Glazed Vase 1930’s Studio Art Pottery Collectables Home Decor

Ewenny Clay Pits Pottery in Bridgend South Wales is a small country pottery that has been in the same family for eight generations.
Their family folklore says their ancestors have been throwing pots there since 1610.
The earliest manorial record of clay being used on the site is 1427.

This vase is a nice example of highly collectable Arts and Crafts style Ewenny Pottery which was produced between 1930 and 1939.
I inherited this charming posy vase from my mother, who purchased it directly from the pottery.

The vase has six small circular openings evenly spaced around a larger central opening, which means it should be really easy to produce an attractive flower arrangement using this vase.

The drip glazing down the sides of the vase gives a lovely shine to the subtle blue, green and brown colours which were hand painted over its traditional pale cream base.

The vase is so attractive that it has always been used as a decorative item in its own right and hence has never been used for flowers.
It is therefore in excellent condition with no chips or cracks or repairs.

Please refer to the photographs provided to make your own assessment regarding the condition of this item.

The Ewenny Clay Pits Pottery impressed backstamp mark is on the underside of this early 20th Century ceramic.

Size: approximately 14.50 cm high x 10.00 cm at the vase’s widest point.

This is a private sale from a pet, smoke and Covid free home.
