An attractive solid oak cased Junghans German Edwardian Glazed Antique Wall clock Circa 1920 and a lovely
clock of this quality, The clock has a good strong regular Tic Toc with a good clean twin train movement running well and keeping very good time bearing the Junghans trade mark on the back plate, striking the hour of the day on the hour, and then with one strike on the half hour with a twin tone ting tang strike (a ting tang strike is a pleasant double strike of two separate notes Instead of just one) the tone is lovely and is achieved using two tuned gong rods (I have attached a short video to demonstrate the strike sound). The recently replaced silvered dial is set with black Arabic numerals, the door to the front being very pretty with five glass panels set in brass, having a carved decoration to the top arch, in all a nicely proportioned clock with a good grain and patina (please see other photographs), to give an Idea of size the dimensions are: height 30 inches (76cm), Width 13.75 inches (35cm), and Depth 6 inches (15.2cm), the dial being 7.5 inches (19cm) in diameter, the excellent brass pendulum bob weight is 4.5 inches (11.5cm) in diameter all measurements are approximate, this lovely old clock is in nice condition all hinges, glass and parts are as they should be, and of course it is
complete with the winding key.
This clock is a genuine antique and will have age related wear to a degree, as an antique Item this must be expected and is the character of the Item and is proof that it is an antique.
