Advert Description
• The BEI is a distinctive breed showing a beetle green iridescent sheen to their plumage that can only be seen at certain angles as the light reflects off it.
• They are predominantly bred as exhibition birds but also make fantastic pets. Due to their bantam size they take very little maintenance and overall a lower cost to keep.
• The breed has a calm nature if raised in the correct environment. BEI will produce anywhere from 40-100 eggs per year. They will start the season with an almost black egg, this pigment will lighten as the season progresses.
• Our breeding stock have been bred from 5* German imports. Their plumage, legs and bill adhere to the British Waterfowl Standards, to keep the breed pure we don't breed from drakes showing any white or aggression. Our ducks show various amounts of white plumage, not only is this typical of a female aging but the earlier a female shows white indicates they have a stronger coloured plumage.
• If given the opportunity they make the most fantastic mothers sitting on 8+ eggs per clutch.
• Overall, this breed is a great choice whether it be for exhibition purposes or just family pets. Their plumage makes them very appealing while roaming your garden. You are guaranteed 100% top quality eggs that will pass on their top quality genes. Eggs are collected daily to ensure you receive the freshest of eggs.
• Although we take pride in our packaging, we cannot guarantee hatch rate once they have been through the postal system. Once you receive your package, leave the eggs facing pointed end down for 24 hours at room temperature. This ensures the air sac is attached and settled before incubation.
