Antique/Vintage Auctioneers Hardwood Gavel

An auctioneers hardwood gavel. I suspect it's antique, but it could be early Vintage. It's clearly an old piece & not modern or a reproduction.

In expected used condition for an item of this age & nature. There is some historical shrinkage cracks & a small split in the handle, that would benefit from a little wood glue. It's still usable & fit for purpose. A lovely piece of hardwood, very smooth & tactile.

It also looks great on the shelf just as an ornament.

It's approx 10" long at its longest points.
