Advert Description
Please feel free to make an offer.
This is a pair of Original WW2 RAF Pilots Flying Goggles.
I believe they're Mk VIII, but please do your own research.
The previous owner told me they were frequently worn in a Spitfire as well other aircraft.
In expected used condition for an item of this age & nature. The glass is in very good condition, as they usually delaminate & go foggy. The elastic strap has been lost in history. I have been looking for another pair in poor condition to use the elastic strap but I haven't found a pair yet. I expect the elastic strap has been thrown away, as they usually lose their stretching ability.
The metal will clean up better but
I prefer to always leave them in as original "as found" condition.
The exposed brass bits will polish up a little where the paint has worn away through use, & the leather is nicely worn just how you'd expect to find it.
Just image the stories these could tell if they could only speak. A characterfull pair of glasses. I haven't noticed any RAF marks or numbers.
Please study the images, as they also form part of the description & please do your own research.
Can post at extra cost. Postage includes being signed for.
