Antique/Vintage Gothic style Spike. I'm not sure if it's solid Copper or solid Bronze.
It has sculptural type qualities. There's some rough metal underneath as a sort of stand.
It will have originally been a Lightning Rod Spike. It would have had 3 smaller spiked screwed in the side. I don't believe these have ever been attached to it, as the inside of the thread has weathered patina.
Someone's mounted it on an old iron cog, as I guess, a sort of garden feature maybe, unless it was still being used as a lightning conductor.
It would also be great if you wanted convert it into a Sun Dial.
The rod is in good condition with nice colour & patina, no cracks & is straight.
In expected used condition for an item of this age & nature.
Approx 10 3/4" tall. The cog diameter is approx 5".
