hi thanks for looking
before we start yes the wood gaps are there by design to allow for expansion and contraction on outside trims
i m selling today a stunning vintage cast iron table with teak trim and a lovely sunflower center piece and heart shape leg design
this is an old piece from when things were very heavy and solid and used decent wood lol
the table measures 46 inches long 24 inches wide and 25 inches tall
all cast except the wood of course ..
this has been hand sanded down to get rid of rust and as much old paint as possible
however to make my life more difficult ,i hate these slapped with thick coats of gloss in just a limited color range .
it never looks great and as good as it is at hiding the inevitable imperfections it also hides its life story and all the lovely details .. i prefer and have applied this logic here , take off as much old paint and rust and sharp edges but keep and show off it character rather than hide it .
so on this i opted for red oxide for rust prevention , followed by 3 coats of metal matt paint , and as matt paint is softer followed with a coat of matt varnish .
the finish is not a hard as full set gloss so a bit of care needed mainly in transportation but the matt light green i think looks stunning especially when framed with old teak stained 4 times with johnsons rosewood stain and a nice dash or 4 of bees wax to give it a lovely depth for years to come
delivery is not an option sorry
