A Large Advertising Double Sided Sign of William Davies, Baker & Provender of Liverpool.
It reads on both sides;
"William Davies
Baker & Provender
For the Best in Cakes & Biscuits
Liverpool
All Goods supplied are of the Best Quality".
I'm not sure if it's old vintage or an actual Antique, as it's on fibreboard. However, it could still be an antique, as the American patent for fiberboard was issued in 1858 but fiberboard wasn't used widely until the 1910s.
It's quite nicely painted so the sign writer was really good. It's even painted on both sides, which makes me think that it was hung above or close to the shop but please do your own research.
It would look superb hung in a cafe, Kitchen or character property.
In expected used condition for an item of this age & nature. There's a few little knocks & marks. It would also benefit from a gentle clean, as it feels a little grubby.
It's very large at approx 48 1/4" by 15 3/4" by 1/2".
This is fresh to the market.
