Our 21 year old happy, sound and healthy boy, Indy, is available for permanent loan within Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire ONLY - sorry, no exceptions. He is semi retired and suitable for a home who is looking to do gentle hacks for short periods of around an hour perhaps 2 or 3 times a week. No schooling or arena work.

We have known Indy for about 9 years now, he is good natured, and good to deal with in all ways, such as hoof trimming (he is barefoot), vet, good to catch etc. He enjoys being pampered, has previously been ridden regularly and could easily be brought back into work as he enjoys having a job to do. Indy has had an active life, and is suitable for hacking now that he is getting older, however he will happily pop the odd small fence while out hacking, he is a happy, sound and healthy boy, and we would like him to stay that way, so does not want hammering.
He would be fine for in hand or veteran showing as he is very well put together and has lovely paces. He prefers company when hacking, and needs a sensitive, well balanced and lightweight rider (max 8.5 stone). He can be spooky sometimes and occasionally spins round, though he tends to mostly do this when hacking alone, so is only suitable for someone with plenty of experience.
He is looking for a home where he can live out most of the time (he does not mind being stabled for short periods at night in winter, but prefers to live out all the time). Indy gets on well with most horses, he particularly adores mares, and is looking for a home where he can live among a group of horses, which must include mares.
8 years ago he became fat when out of work and had a mild attack of laminitis, he has only had it once and has never had any problems since, however it is essential that he is not allowed to become overweight.
