Suiseki collection and reference book. Authors are Vincent T Covello and Yuji Yoshimura. 14 of the 18 stones are mounted on specially commissioned carved bases for each individual stone. Several different varieties of wood including oak, burr walnut and beech were used.
One stone is on a dark oval hardwood stand with feet. Another is standing on a stone base and two are freestanding.
The stones are as found and uncut.

In the eye of the beholder there are a reclining
buddha, mountain stones which represent dried up water falls, rugged and smooth mountains all of different types of rock (flints limestone and sandstone. Two coral cottages and a sea stack complete the views.
This collection took many years to find with no purposeful collecting apart from appreciation of the shapes of the stones when found by accident. They are for sale as a whole to someone who will appreciate them for what they are. The bases were made at the same time long after the stones were collected.
They would look very good in a show case or within a bonsai display.
