A Genuine Classic White Leather Aviator or Racing Car Drivers Hat. It has significant age, so I believe it's from around the 1910's to the 1930's, including the Art Deco period.
It's a nice looking characterful piece. It has an "M" inside, so I think it's medium in size.
In expected used condition for an item of this age & nature. The leather is still fairly soft, but now has an expected sort of cream off white colour due to its age. The press studs have minor surface corrosion, exactly what you'd want to find on a genuine item. They all work but the right hand side press stud which covers the ear, is coming away sightly, so I'll leave them all unpressed. It will still open & close but you have to be careful with it. There's also expected discoloration on both the outside & inside on the cotton lining from being worn.
It would make a nice addition to a vintage automobile vehicle collection. It also looks fantastic mounted on a display head with car or aviation pieces.
