Fender Vintage USA 52 Hot Rod Telecaster - 2014
This is the 2014 updated model which is a little different from the model that ran from 2007 to 2013 (which had the mini SD neck humbucker)
This has 4 way switching for series and parallel, a slimmer neck; Fender D shape (less than a U shape, bit more than a C shape) with
Gotoh vintage locking tuners, compound radius neck profile, Fender wide range humbucker, 375k pots. This is a great, versatile guitar.
The original bridge pickup has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan BG1400 - this is a well-documented very desirable modification.
In Seymour Duncan's words "The rudest Tele lead pickup we make will hit back whatever you throw at it."
The BG-1400 is constructed with two very overwound coils on top of one another that both hand out its thick tone and stay quiet when you’re playing on stage, in the studio, or at home.
Alnico 5 magnets are used for added pick attack presence.
The body has a few small dings, but it has been lovingly cared for as an infrequently gigged instrument, kept clean and setup with fresh strings regularly. The neck also has a slight ding that does not affect playability.
The guitar comes in it’s original thermometer case - which I believe was only available with this model.
