Advert Description

The Dr Campbells crab apple tree is beautiful tree when grown. It will stand about 3 metres or 10ft tall and around 2 metres or 7ft in diameter when fully grown. It has darker green leaves that have a bronze tinge later in the year. The flowers in spring are pink and usually very abundant and contrast well against the new leaves. The tree is self-fertile, so no other polinator tree is required for fruit, and it is a good pollinator of other apple trees if they are close by. The fruit from this tree will be exceptionally large for a crab apple, approximately 6cm in diameter. They are very dark purple to nearly black in colour and also usually quite abundant. The fruit has a dark purple flesh that makes delicious jams and jellies, and they are also very good for juicing as the juice is very flavoursome. The juice can be added to cider apple juice to create different flavours and a purple coloured cider.
The 2 photos of the apples are generic photos of Dr Campbells crab apples taken from online to show the apples it will produce.
The tree can be either collected in the old pot as in the photos or I can post as a bare root when fully dormant or I can post with the rootball intact once transferred to a smaller bag. All postage at cost.
The tree is now dormant, so can post bare root immediately.
