Advert Description

This coin set is 54 years old and in perfect condition in a sealed plastic case with an information card enclosed. It is identical to the photo but the case is red. On 9th October 1769 Captain Cook, who had spotted the coast two days before in his ship 'Endeavour', landed in New Zealand. So these coins commemorate 200 years since his discovery of this land and his claim of it on behalf of the British monarch. The coins show James Cook's own very accurate chart of New Zealand, possibly his greatest achievement during this 3 voyages of discovery in the Pacific. This set would make a great Christmas or birthday gift for any coin collector. They can be sent to you post-free, or viewed and collected. No returns. I have another set too, without the plastic case, and these have been highly polished by the Royal Mint before being sealed in their cellophane wrapper. They are each the same price.
