Companion Pony Loan / Loan with view to buy / Sale
Duchess is a 16 year old 14hh Irish pony who is now retired due to reasons that i would be happy to explain if you are intrested in her.
Duchess is the most cuddly sweet mare on the ground, never mareish and always comes over in the field. She loves a good carrot and a scratch on the neck and will show you her pretty teeth if you give her any treat that has mint in it.
She has very good ground manners and i would trust my grandmother leading her. That being said if you are very stressed or other horses are displaying stress behaviours she is INCREDIBLY sensitive to this, she is the most sensitive mare i have ever worked with and she can then become sharp and throw some moves if you are not calm.
Duchess has been out with both geldings and mares in previous homes- and is currently keeping two broodmares company. She herself has had one foal before.
She very happily lives out 24/7 rain or shine- she doesn’t like being in a stable but will go in one happily with food every now and again but i do not want her being kept in one regularly.
She doesn’t load. (Not easily atleast)
Stands beautifully for farrier dentist etc (barefoot on all fours)
Duchess would happily go as a companion to another horse or even if you are just looking for a pet to love and cherish. She has amazing ground work and i started building up to do some liberty with her so if this is your thing then she would be very happy with you!
I unfortunately do not have the time or money and space to keep her as I am a college student and need to focus on my other horses.
This is a really heartbreaking situation so please no time wasters.
