Advert Description

A VHS video film: A Night to Remember. A 1950's black and white film made into a black and video in 1998. This is one of the early films made in the 50's of the sinking of the unsinkable the Titanic passenger liner on her maiden voyage. A sobering version of the events as is thought to have taken place. Some good actors when they were much younger. They include Kenneth More, Honor Blackman, David McCallum, Michael Goodlife and others. The video still plays ok but the quality is the quality of the 50's and 90's. It is still watchable, you just have to forget that technology has improved greatly. I watched this as a film on a black and white TV 2/3 times in the 60's when I was in my early teens. It (and another version) was often shown around Christmas and the New Year. I always had to watch them, they sort of put life into perspective for me. It was an absolutely terrible tragedy with some hard lessons to learn. I have also watched this video a few times, much preferring it to its modern day version which was more of a drama than a real life event. The lat time it was played was 13th January 2024 and as mentioned it is still watchable. The general quality is good, the case has no defects that I can find and is clean. It has been re-wound. I am selling it for 2 reasons. I would like to think someone else could appreciate this version of events and I am also downsizing my video collection. Collectable/postable. I have other items for sale and am happy to combine.
