An original Belstaff Trialmaster leather jacket.
Size Large.
This isn’t like the ones on sale today. It’s very heavy leather, made to protect trials riders – and as worn by the likes of Steve McQueen and his buddies in the 70’s – and earlier by Amy Johnson on her epic flight to Australia.
In addition to these Belstaff owners you can add Che Guevara – who wore a Belstaff jacket just like this during his travels around Latin America.
If you’re a movie fan you’ll likely have seen more recent versions of this hanging on the backs of any number of stars. But in terms of heavy duty quality and protection, the ones you see won’t hold a candle to this one – and could have cost the owner in excess of £1,500!
Mint examples of this particular jacket are rarer than hen’s teeth – possibly impossible to find outside a museum. This one even has the original Belstaff tag it came with when purchased.
The jacket has a removable lining – tags from both the lining and jacket are shown in the pics.
I bought it from a bike store closure sale – many, many years ago. Since then it’s hung in my wardrobe, in my smoke-free home, along with many other items of biker wear - many also unworn.
I’m now at an age where most of my bikes have gone and I need to clear things out - so it has to go.
I’m slim build with a 42” chest and it fits me just fine.
