Elizabeth II genuine 1964 retired official red pillar post box. We have the original key with genuine brass Chubb lock which is apparently 1963 (the previous owner was an ex-postie and has a huge collection - we have proof of purchase).
The chute is in working order, and inside has only been cleaned and otherwise left untouched. You can still see the stencilling inside showing “CAA1964”.
The outside has been lightly restored by the previous owner using traditional pillar box red, and overall it’s in fantastic condition for its age. We’ve had it just over 2 years as an ornament for our driveway. Should only go up in value - poor quality ones are being sold online for over £5,000
Buyer collects - very heavy!! We will arrange careful removal from the ground,
but don’t have the means to transport it for you so please come prepared to move a heavy item into your vehicle. The post box is around 6ft high and probably weighs around a tonne.
