Damson is a 14hh Dales X Cob mare. Currently been out of work for 5 months due to lack of facilities over winter, so sold from the field unfit, fat & hairy (price to reflect this)
In full work she is a dream to ride in an arena/field, works in an outline, loves polework/jumping. However she is forward & can buck & spook when excited/nervous so experienced riders only. Would suit small adult or competent teen/older child that doesn't mind a cheeky buck & sharpness! NOT suitable for beginners or novices. Private home wanted
Damson will hack alone & in company but when alone needs a confident rider otherwise can nap or spook until she knows her surroundings. Is nervous of large machinery & vehicles (fine with cars & vans). Is fine to hack alone if you're a confident rider, gets better the more she does. In company less spooky & nervous in traffic (this could be easily sorted with a calm horse for company) but in company can get excited in open spaces when cantering, gets fast, small bucks etc
Great to handle on the ground, groom, clip, vet, farrier, dentist. Can be bossy & assertive in a herd at first but nothing dangerous, just wants to be in charge but will get on with both geldings & mares. Prefers to live out but she'll also happily stable when needed. She lives on fresh air but needs strict weight management in summer. Has always been barefoot & happy that way but did have shoes put on once during a dry summer and was happy to have them put on
She's a lovely pony that gets better when in regular work but when excited/not being ridden regularly she can be cheeky, sharp and buck so please experienced riders only. Once in regular work and used to her surroundings she'll settle enough to lead a more beginner person around, but main owner MUST be experienced
Always comes back into work quickly & easily, is a dream to lunge. Price reflects being sold from field after 5 months off, so please don't expect a fit shiny pony. £1000 or £1500 with tack & rug
